Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 August 2026

This policy covers the website at thewidepoint.com. Our apps each have their own privacy policy, linked from that app’s page — where the two differ, the app’s own policy governs the app.

Information we collect

We keep collection to the minimum needed to run the site:

  • Information you send us: if you use the contact or enquiry form, we receive the name, email address, and message you type in.
  • Account information: if you create an account, we store your email address and the credentials needed to sign you in.
  • Technical information: our hosting provider records standard server logs — IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and the time of each request.
  • Usage analytics: we use Vercel Web Analytics to see which pages get read. It records page views, referrer, and coarse device and country information. It sets no cookies and does not follow you across other websites.

We do not buy personal data from third parties, and we do not sell or rent yours.

How we use it

  • To reply to enquiries and messages you send us.
  • To create and secure your account, if you have one.
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the site, including diagnosing errors and preventing abuse.
  • To meet legal obligations where they apply to us.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and we do not use the contents of your messages for advertising.

Cookies

The site uses a small number of cookies and similar browser storage:

  • Essential cookies: used to keep you signed in and to protect forms against cross-site request forgery. The site cannot work correctly without these.
  • Preference storage: your light/dark theme choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the site looks the same on your next visit. It never leaves your device.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the essential ones, signing in will not work.

Third-party services

We rely on a few providers to deliver the site. They process data only on our instructions and under their own privacy policies:

  • Our hosting and content-delivery provider, which serves the site, keeps standard access logs, and provides the usage analytics described above.
  • Our email provider, which delivers the messages sent through the contact and enquiry forms to our inbox.
  • Authentication providers you choose to sign in with, such as Google, which confirm your identity to us.

Pages on this site may link to external sites. Once you follow such a link, the destination site’s privacy policy applies, not this one.

Retention and security

We keep enquiry messages for as long as needed to handle the conversation and our records, and account data for as long as the account exists. Server logs are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting. Data is transmitted over HTTPS and access is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Email us at the address below and we will action the request. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

Children’s privacy

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information through it. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new “last updated” date. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
